Hawkchurch Parish Council

Notice of Uncontested Election: Hawkchurch
Annual Parish Meeting: Tuesday 16th April at 7,15pm - All parishioners are invited - View Agenda

Hawkchurch Parish Council meets at the Hawkchurch Village Hall on the third Tuesday in the month except August. The May meeting is the Annual Council Meeting.

All Council meetings are open to the public and include an item called the Democratic Period in which you can ask questions or make a statement to the council. If you require a detailed answer, advanced notice of your question would be much appreciated.

In April the Annual Parish Meeting is held. This is not a council meeting, but a meeting of the parish, and is open to everyone.

The Council also has a Planning Committee which meets between council meetings if required, otherwise planning applications are dealt with at the council meeting.

About Hawkchurch

Hawkchurch is a small Devon village near the Dorset border, indeed it was originally in that county. Set in a superb position in beautiful rolling countryside, it has been described as a 'village of roses'.

Hawkchurch has won the best kept village in Devon competition on several occasions, and whilst it has not actually won the competition recently, it regularly appears in the list of top scores. In 2013 it won the Best Kept Small Village in East Devon award for the third year running.

The village has a school, public house, village hall and a church. There are a number of organisations operating from the village hall.
